Salix going on a HP Pavilion dv6000 I guess. I got two of these from a lady at the dump and this one was in slightly better shape. Has the AMD Turion TL-52 and 2 whole gigabytes of RAM. Also, S-video out, which is neat because I have an Ikegami PVM that was taking up space and this laptop + Salix works great with it!

Still has spinning rust (sadly SSDs are too expensive these days for a silly little project like this). At least it's 7200RPM.

Assuming I can get this in a usable state, it probably needs new thermal paste and a good cleaning.

But we want cloud native magic so we're building "Bluefin Server" but not sure on the name. And it'll run flatcar, and in there your magical bootc factory runs and your bluebuild just worked ootb. And the Fedora one will come with coreOS, tekton, forgejo, konflux, etc.

A place for both - if we design the homeserver and desktop as one unified WHOLE, we could do a ton more stuff. The tech is already finished.

AMD has added three new chips to its Versal Prime Series Gen 2 lineup: the Versal 2VM3454, 2VM3254, and 2VM3104. Designed for space-constrained applications like Pro AV, broadcast, and industrial IoT, these new devices deliver up to 100K DMIPS of scalar compute in packages as small as 23 x 23 mm. AMD started shipping the first production units of the Versal Prime Gen2 Series with the 2VM3858 device late last year. The 2VM3558 has since entered full production, while the 2VM3358 is currently sampling. These new devices are designed to provide an optimized footprint and processing subsystem compared to the earlier models. Если у вас есть какая-то система мониторинга чего-то - наверняка там есть какие-то показатели, которые актуальны здесь и сейчас: для метеостанции - температура, для роутера - трафик, для сервера - нагрузка, и т.д. - в общем, какая-то актуальная величина. Но кроме онлайн-значений - может быть полезен график, например за ближайшие сутки, или за месяц, или за год - чтобы можно было оценивать тренды. Или наоборот: иногда происходит какое-то событие, достаточно редкое (сбой, или наоборот срабатывание), но хотелось бы понимать, насколько часто, и не меняется ли его частота в разные периоды - ведь это может быть признаком более серьезной проблемы. Самое очевидное решение - писать данные в базу. Но такая таблица будет постоянно расти, занимать всё больше места, а выборка за прошлый период может отрабатывать довольно долго, особенно если требуется уместить целый год в 900 пикселей графика. Когда-то и я наступил на эти грабли - когда база на MongoDB распухла так, что не влезла в 32-битный компьютер. Но это другая история. При этом мало кому нужно точно знать, какая температура была на датчике 26 июля 2016 года в 14:33:15 - чаще достаточно просто усредненных значений. Вот как раз для подобного давным-давно люди придумали RRD - Round-robin database
