How to waste a day of you life, computer version:

Try to get X-Wing Alliance to run right on a linux PC, ideally including xwaUpgrade for nicer graphics. Steam, Lutris, wine, any combination thereof - all fails.
Best bet is oure steam install, which plays, but the ingame settings menu is borked, making it hard to play.

Does @gamingonlinux have any experience?

KDE Linux is moving back to the vanilla Linux kernel while removing AUR usage, fuse2, and several unused components.

I tested this kind of control system in Leafs for months now (the bubbles on the top right), the terminal of the Singularity Desktop, today I worked to extend it to every libsingularity app (read first comment if you are a Server Side Decorated user). It definitely makes the experience more unique, am in love with it :D

The past two weeks with Debian Sid and my new work setup—featuring two NAS devices and a new internal network—have been a success!

One NAS serves as internal storage for all my documents, photos, videos, etc., while the second NAS acts as a personal cloud connected to my smartphones, backing up photos and videos I take, which I then copy to my internal NAS at home—if relevant.

Conversely, when needed, I move necessary documents, photos, etc., from the internal NAS to the personal cloud so that I have the required materials on hand at short notice for appointments and the like.

That may sound cumbersome, but I consider it more practical not to have everything stored on a single device that can also be accessed remotely.

So I think the defences are starting to give and the side of going DIY is starting to break through, thus this is the beginning of the end of the mental stalemate I've been in!

One of the reasons I'm swaying that way is the rumoured price of the 2nd generation Steam Machine. The Steam Deck has received a £300 price increase because of this stupid silicon shortage (thanks "AI" -_-) and Valve probably is struggling to source the parts. So from a price perspective building a new Bazzite gaming PC is the way to go (I don't think I'll be able to afford a Steam Machine now)!
