Better alternatives to achieve online safety. The government should support safer and more privacy-preserving alternatives instead of age verification systems. Interoperability – People should be able to choose safer services/platforms without losing networks, just how you can switch bank accounts easily. Empowering users – Encourage competition around safety and reduce dependence on large platforms that monetise attention to keep us online. Reject surveillance-based Internet – Creating privacy risks isn’t safe.

(3/3) If we want reasons to celebrate one of the GDPR’s future birthdays, we have to organize against all of this! Neither politicians, who are thinking from their place at the top down to where we are, nor heroes, even though they are fighting for us, will bring the change we need.
