I have GNOME curiosity question for anyone in the know.

GNOME doesn't natively support the placing of files on the desktop.

So why does it have a desktop folder in the home folder? Or is that more of a distro issue?

I ported OTODESK's Ambience algorithmic reverb to Linux.

I also added locking for wet/dry settings, made the UI scalable, and embedded the factory presets in the build.

It's a wonderful sounding algorithmic reverb. You can download a VST3 build here:

Buh-bye Debian Forky and the heeedious systemd...

Minor dramas involved mind you... when I changed out the 4070S for the 7800XT the DP->HDMI @60Hz dongle I need for the second screen came apart in my hands... trip to the store to get a new 60Hz dongle at some point soon. 30Hz capable cable to the rescue - but hard on the eyes I find.

At idle the box is burning ~1W less - I'll blame systemd for all the bazillion services it is constantly running.
