🛡️ Изоляция приложений и пользовательских данных в Android

Мобильные устройства хранят большой объём чувствительных данных. Важно, чтобы они были защищены от третьих лиц. Android уже реализует песочницу приложений и систему разрешений, благодаря которым данные остаются в безопасности. Однако даже в такой хорошо спроектированной модели безопасности можно найти уязвимости. Приложения могут запрашивать разрешения с добрыми намерениями, а на деле собирать лишние данные к себе. Иногда даже не нужно спрашивать разрешения.

Android позволяет создавать вторичные профили и помещать туда приложения: рабочий профиль, частное пространство и пользователи. У них общая цель изоляции пользовательских данных, но разное предназначение и реализация управления. Однако прежде чем использовать их, стоит разобраться, что вообще изолируется в профилях и как устроена стандартная изоляция в Android.

If you have some kind of device running #Android with keyboard+mouse input, you too will likely enjoy the changes as you should be able to likewise disable all touch-specific code too! The Android version still has some compiled out code for desktop-y concepts like window handling so your mileage may vary however.

...I'm also not sure how commonplace it is to have an Android device with non-touchscreen input. If you're on Chrome OS our typical recommendation is to install Principia inside of the Crostini Linux container. Or do as I did, flash the bootloader with Coreboot and install regular Linux onto it!

My first company, Opera, was built on word of mouth. The same applies to my 2nd company, @Vivaldi. We have never had the means that Big Tech has. In the case of Vivaldi, we have even avoided investors, to not end up like Opera.

We have also made it harder for our selves. We likely could have generated more funds through adding stuff like Crypto, AI or just plain old data collection in the browser, but we choose not to. We are also not an Ad company like most of our larger competitors. Instead we have added a wealth of features and customization.

Now people are starting to understand that just going with Big Tech may be easy to start with, but ends up not being worth it. In fact we now have governments and companies thinking that they need to move away from Big Tech and quickly.
