It seems as though there are a lot of news outlets that are, in my opinion: user hostile. Lots of pop-ups, ads, opt-in to cookies, give us your email, etc.
I would personally be willing to pay $0.25 - $0.99 per article (If it was easy/private to pay w/o subs or tracking) if they made it the best reading experience in the world on any device.
It’s worth noting I get my news from many difference sources so I would not want to be locked-in to one news station/outlet.
