Hello fediverse, I have a question.
Which country in south east asia region that still and potentially still in near future respecting individual privacy OR the very least has a strong community in Cybersecurity?
From what I see so far, it is either Malaysia or Singapore that has strong cybersecurity community.
This is just for future preference.
Thanks in advance

Google paid $17.1 Million for Vulnerability Reports in 2025.
The company says it has awarded over $81.6 million in bug bounties since the first Vulnerability Reward Program went live in 2010, while the highest reward paid last year was of $250,000.
⁉️"Our VRP once again confirmed the ongoing value of engaging with the external security research community to make Google and its products safer," Google said. "This was more evident than ever as we awarded over $17 million (an all-time high and more than 40% increase compared to 2024!) to over 700 researchers based in countries around the globe – across all of our programs."⁉️

We support protecting children online, but not through mass surveillance.
Mandatory content scanning and broad monitoring threaten the privacy of everyone and often expand beyond their original purpose.
At Zerion, we believe privacy is a human right. That’s why we’re open source, transparent, and committed to strong encryption and secure communication.
Privacy is a right. Encryption is essential.
Shocked that it has taken me so long, thanks to a heads-up from a friend & #nixos via #claudecode, to see that I should have set up:
(1) #ECH on my #reverseproxy serving my sites
(2) #DoT on my daily driver.
#DNS url names (web addresses) are *not* #encrypted by default even on sensible operating systems!
The incessant leakage to #ISP & intermediaries of site names visited in 99.9% of cases is an egregious #privacy issue I never knew of. Using #DoH is next? All fixes rely on #CloudFlare OMG
@alcatholic @Linux @nileane @EUCommission the only ones that can provide any resemblance of privacy are those that run 100% on ine's personal device & offline!
In fact, being able to do airgapped Self-Hosting is why Mistral got some actually profitable industial clients, but corpos like ASML mostly use their tech to automate QC by checking wavers against reference images and flagging defective ones.

The government's aim to block nude images would take away control over our devices.
ORG's @JamesBaker explains that this is about mandating for all of us as adults to go through ID checks simply to unlock the actual use of our phone.
Despite there existing ways for parents to protect kids already.
