The Homebrew team has released version 6.0 of this popular open-source package manager for macOS and Linux, with a new mechanism for trusting packages and support for sandboxing on Linux, to align with existing sandboxing on macOS.

Homebrew 6.0 introduces tap trust, a "tap" being a collection of formulae, casks [a package of pre-compiled binaries] and commands which usually reside in a Git repository. The tool trusts official Homebrew taps by default, but requires an explicit agreement before it will trust third-party taps [which can include arbitrary Ruby code] before they install or run any code.

The team behind Mageia Linux has released Mageia 10 as of today. This version is the final version of this Linux distribution, and is now generally available for everyday users and for production environments, as well as advanced users and developers.
Newer versions of thousands of packages have been released to bring new features, general improvements, and bug fixes, to improve your user experience. Those new features increase your productivity, as well as new capabilities that make doing your work easier than before.
The graphical login manager has been improved, with attention to visual details to make it nicer than before, while preserving the spirit of Mandrake Linux. Also, Mageia tools have undergone recent improvements that make it easier for you to configure your system, such as setting up the keyboard layout and the mouse settings.

The release closes 27 bugs in total. Among them, Need for Speed Most Wanted no longer registers a continuous "up" input when a gamepad is connected, and Super Hexagon no longer ignores input after a selection is made on the title screen when a gamepad is present. The release also adds fractional-scaling support under Wayland and an option in winecfg for 7.1 surround sound output.
