I just discovered #chafa a very helpful tool to view images and animations in your terminal. It's great to not get confused by different files. I had to alias chafa to chafa -f symbols but it works great over ssh.

I tu zaczynają się jaja jakieś.
Na koncie root on się najwyraźniej odpala, jak root przełączy się na usera to tam też, ale jak otworzę terminal usera ot tak to tam jest inne $PATH ... może zawsze było inne, tego nie wiem ale ~/.local/bin/ działało!

Co spartaczyłem? :D

So. Hauptrechner läuft mit EndeavourOS (Arch), Laptop 1 läuft mit Linux Mint mit XFCE und Liquorix-Kernel. Laptop 2 kriegt jetzt Fedora XFCE. Vielleicht auch den LQX-Kernel.

Damit kann ich wohl behaupten, alle relevanten Linux-Distributionen einigermaßen zu beherrschen.

Gentoo und Slackware laufen aktuell nur in der VM bei mir.

I'm watching cozy outdoors videos, while having some tasty Rooibos and setting up a new installation with Gentoo (via my current setup with Devuan). My new setup will be using Wayland! How modern of me.

(There's nothing wrong with Devuan, it's just that I miss Gentoo)

Going pure Wayland means that I have replaced i3 with Sway. I'm not much for changes, and I really like i3.

Pure Wayland also means that I can finally have a pure non-systemd setup. With X11 you needed stuff like elogind. Yay!

Gentoo-based Redcore Linux is the only operating system on my laptop now.

Secureboot is always disabled in UEFI.

I have every reason to be suspicious of anything Microslop.

Thankfully, a Gentoo Linux based system won't install this Microsoft UEFI Secureboot DBX without my consent.

But I want to get rid of it completely.

OK let me run up this flagpole. now I KNOW there's so many UNIX-style desktop environments that I can't possible make a really comprehensive poll but I'm genuinely curious as to what folks use. We first experienced Xfce quite a while ago (late 1990s when it was new) and after spending a while with KDE and other things instead we settled back into Xfce. It gets the job done and that's what matters.

#HARICA entschuldigt sich für zwei kürzliche Vorfälle im Zusammenhang mit der Massen-Ersetzung von TLS-Zertifikaten. Betont wird, dass keine Sicherheitskompromittierung vorlag – die betroffenen #Zertifikate blieben stets vertrauenswürdig.
