Cette adresse peut avoir été utilisée auparavant par quelqu'un d'autre pour des comportements abusifs : tentatives de connexion automatisées, scans, attaques par force brute ou autres activités malveillantes.

                Les systèmes de protection d'un serveur ne peuvent généralement pas savoir qui se trouve réellement derrière une adresse IP. Ils voient uniquement l'adresse qui effectue les requêtes.

                                                                                      Proton-CEO Andy Yen deutete auf Reddit an, dass Proton nach der Entscheidung zur Chatkontrolle 1.0 wahrscheinlich einen eigenen Messenger entwickeln wird.

                                                                                      Auch die Idee, Kontakte über Benutzernamen statt Telefonnummern oder E-Mail-Adressen hinzuzufügen, fand er gut.

                                                                                      Noch ist nichts offiziell angekündigt – spannend wäre ein „Proton Messenger“ aber definitiv. Wir dürfen also gespannt sein, was in Zukunft noch kommen wird. 👀

                                                                                        They remember a random Tuesday in July 2020 better than I do. Three episodes of Warrior Nun back to back, logged forever.
                                                                                        I've been building an app that turns these exports into something you can actually read. Seeing your own data like this is strange. Part surveillance receipt, part photo album.

                                                                                          I preface each OSM talk/workshop I give with a little introduction/discussion about software freedom - what are the four freedoms, and why they are important for every user (especially nontechnical ones).

                                                                                          But I recently changed it to have a slightly broader focus - the four freedoms, decentralization, and cooperative governance - with an overarching emphasis on, as Aral says, ownership and control.

                                                                                            got this on many levels wrong. This post is only here to promote their own email service. AND DON'T USE ! WTF! Also no tor browser for regular users please.

                                                                                            My list:

                                                                                            Gmail a.o. → Too much alternatives, but make sure they use IMAP.

                                                                                            Google Docs → Nextcloud or Cryptpad, although Cryptpad is not good on mobile. Both can be self-hosted if you are into that.

                                                                                            WhatsApp → Signal or DeltaChat. Yes there are other options, but those are not mainstream ready.

                                                                                            Chrome → Firefox or one of its more secure derivatives (but watch out if they are usable for daily use).

                                                                                            Instagram → Pixelfed, although @dansup should give much more love to it! Loops is great, but people are waiting now for ages for bug fixes and important improvements. It's not funny anymore.

                                                                                            Bonus:

                                                                                            Facebook → Bonfire, Hubzilla or Friendica.

                                                                                            TikTok → Loops.

                                                                                            Twitter/X, Bluesky/Eurosky/Blacksky/W-social/etc, Threads or even Tumblr → Mastodon or similar.

                                                                                            Discord → Matrix or similar. Has Matrix already solved their spam problem?
