voidq.xyz is a Fediverse instance that uses the ActivityPub protocol. In other words, users at this host can communicate with people that use software like Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, etc. all around the world.
This server runs the snac software and there is no automatic sign-up process.
Uploaded #jabberEl 0.12.0-1 to #Debian unstable.
My favourte feature of this release: #SyntaxHighlighting of code snippets, like #Gajim and #Prose! Amazing work by Thanos, as always.

Plan is to add support for Reporting Account Affiliations (XEP-0489) like prosody does, plus a system for account signups that sits on top of mod_invites and asks for email (or later phone number) for verification. The process could either be automatic or manual approval by an admin. That information could later be used for automatic password recovery.
Good? Bad? What do you think?

That was fast!
On 2026-07-02, I opened a feature request for #jabberEl to support syntax highlighting for code snippets like #Gajim and #Prose.
https://codeberg.org/emacs-jabber/emacs-jabber/issues/160
On the same day, developers agreed in the group chat, that it was easy to implement in the same way as #orgmode does it.

On 2026-07-05, the feature has been committed to git master by Thanos Apollo.
Thanks!

@Em0nM4stodon precisely that!
And it's not as if there ain't options anymore:
We're in 2026, @tails / @tails_live was never easier to use and setup, @torproject got more battle-hardened with countless options ranging from IRC & XMPP+OMEMO ( i.e. monocles chat), to Zulip, RocketChat, PGP/MIME (i.e. @delta & @thunderbird ) & OnionShare (by @micahflee ) …
OnionService over Tor!More folks need to take ComSec serious before they get criminalized like Russian Opposition Figures…
